Riverwood is a private residence that also serves as an animal refuge and sanctuary. Our waterfowl sanctuary includes Canadian Greese that return each year to raise their young, doves, a variety of owls, Mallard ducks, Peacocks, blue and white Heron, and an array of indigenous birds. We are also home to various farm animals ranging from pot belly pigs to retired thoroughbred racing horses. We offer equine residential services at our Black Jack Stables. Part of our boarding fees go toward caring for animals in our safe harbor program.
Riverwood has lush, rolling, rotating pastures, woodslands, spring fed ponds, and a fresh water creek. We are private, secluded, and offer a safe haven and secure location for all our animals. We also reside on the property which provides an extra measure of security and further insures our resident's health and well being.
We have over 40 years experience in animal husbandry and equine care to insure excellence in overseeing all our residents.
